Getting Started
Insight is Catalyst’s innovative e-discovery platform, engineered for the demanding requirements of modern litigation. Use this Documentation Center to find information on a wide range of features. Within your site, the features available to you depend on your permissions.
Logging In
To log into Insight, use the link provided by your administrator, or go to the Catalyst website: www.catalystsecure.com, and at the top right-hand side of the page, click the Login button.
You will be prompted for your User name and Password.
Note: Catalyst will provide important notices through the log in screen.
Browser Information
Access to Insight requires the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on a PC or Mac computer. Using any other browser or device (tablet, iPad, phone, etc.) may result in unexpected behavior and/or system errors. Insight is blocked from opening in Internet Explorer.
Clearing the Cache
We encourage you to clear your browser's cache after new releases of Insight.
How to clear Google Chrome's cache
Launch Google Chrome.
Click the hamburger button (Chrome Settings), usually three dots or three lines, at the top right-hand side of the page.
Next, click Settings on the drop-down menu.
On the Chrome Settings page, scroll down and click Advanced to reveal the Privacy and security options.
Scroll to the bottom of the Privacy and security options, and click Clear browsing data.
On the Clear browsing data menu, you only need to be sure to click the check box next to Cached images and files.
Click the Clear data button.
Note: You will need to clear your cache each time before you log in after a new release.
How to clear Mozilla Firefox's cache
Launch Firefox.
Click the hamburger button (Firefox settings), usually three lines, at the top right-hand side of the page, or simply click the Options button.
On the Firefox Options menu, click Privacy & Security.
From the Privacy & Security menu, click the Clear Data... button.
On the Clear Data menu, you only need to be sure to click the check box next to Cached Web Content.
Then click the Clear button.
Working in Multiple Sites
If you need to work in more than one site in Insight, you can do this using the Incognito Window feature. Click the New incognito window in the Chrome Settings menu. You can also use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+N.
If you use Firefox, click File and select New Private Window.
Viewing PDFs
Chrome provides a built-in reader for viewing PDF records from within the browser. Chrome supports the Adobe Acrobat Plugin as well.
Firefox's uses your default PDF viewer, such as Adobe Reader.
